Around 5:39 pm my husband called and asked if I wanted to go out to dinner. My brother-in-law wanted to celebrate and offered to take us to a very nice dinner at Shaw's.
Shaw's is a fantastic restaurant. The vibe inside the dinning room is very art deco with great lighting and attentive servers. I've been to this restaurant a couple times before but tonight was especially great because of the celebration aspect of the evening. I've not only managed to find the greatest guy to marry but the family I have married into is fantastic. Everyone of them is very nice, understanding and accepting. I'm a lucky girl!
So I wasn't able to take many photos tonight because I wanted to give all my attention to the conversation. To start off with I had a ceasar salad with no anchovies and no croutons. My main dish was Filet Mignon. This steak was fantastic, just melted in my mouth. The vegetable ordered for the table was brussels sprouts. I'm happy to say I managed to get this veggie ordered even though they were clearly not the table favorite. Sometimes it helps being the only girl at the table ;) FYI...The boys actually liked them!
If you look closely at the picture below you can see the big fish that was mounted on the wall.
I did manage to take a picture of dessert. It was a pumpkin cheesecake with caramel sauce and pecans on top. The dessert is made by the in-house pastry chef. OMG, this dessert was so phenomenal! I so did not want it to ever end.
After dinner we cabbed it home and may or may not have brought home a little piece of my steak to feed the dogs. They deserve a treat, they are good dogs.
Congrats to my brother-in-law and thanks for the great dinner!
What is your favorite pumpkin dessert?
Before tonight I would have said my homemade pumpkin pie. After tonight, Shaw's pumpkin cheesecake!
