Sunday in St. Maarten

I had a great nights sleep! I woke up stepped on the balcony (minus the parka) and woke up to a beautiful sight:

I stood on the balcony for about 5 minutes and then we hopped on a bus tour to learn the layout of the island.

Our first stop was a couple beaches. The water was absolutely beautiful! So clean and very blue:

We were able to spend about 30 minutes at the beach and that was all the time I needed to know I would be coming back later in the week!

Lunch

After the beach stop everyone was pretty hungry so we stopped and had some lunch at the Sky's the Limit.

Here is a look at how they cooked the meat. Didn't look the most sanitary to me but that didn't stop me from trying it out:

Diet Coke to drink (notice the smaller sized can):

To eat I ordered the "Garlic Shrimp Food". That is how it was listed on the menu. It was okay but, again, nothing special. I found it interesting that every meal came with salad, cole slaw, spaghetti, broccoli, beans and rice and mac-n-cheese all on the same plate!

This was actually the worst meal we had on the island. Thank goodness we were seated with a fun and nice family from Jersey. They were great!

After our meal, Patrick and I walked around a bit. Here is another look at the gorgeous water:

After lunch we stopped at a local grocery store to pick up some food for our room. We were lucky to have a full kitchen in our hotel room.

After the bus tour Patrick and I explored the resort we were staying at. We also took some time to just relax on beach chairs and take in all the fresh air and scenery.

Here is a look at the ocean from the resort pool:

Dinner

Sunday's dinner was buffet style. My first plate consisted of salad, cucumber salad, rice and beans, white fish, corn on the cob, plantain and a roll:

Second plate consisted of salad, corn on the cob and cauliflower:

For dessert we shared a piece of pineapple upside down cake. I was so excited to try it that I forgot to take a picture until after we had consumed it:

Stay tuned for Monday in St. Maarten!
