Spicy Dinner

Here is a look at the dinner I cooked for my husband and I today. The complete meal was spaghetti squash with spicy marinara sauce and spicy steak.

This was my first time cooking a steak. I've always had a problem handling raw meat so this was a big step for me. I have to say it was very good!

I put a rub on the steak that had a nice spicy kick to it. This is a recipe I will totally do again.

Ingredients:
  • 2 tablespoons paprika
  • 2 teaspoons onion salt
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons dried basil
  • 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
The above rub should accommodate 6 (6 ounce steaks).

As a side dish we had spaghetti squash with a marinara sauce. I just used Traditional Ragu sauce and added chopped garlic, minced onion and pepper flakes. This sauce was a really nice compliment to the spicy steak.

I of coarse needed some dessert after dinner so I pulled out the Pepperidge Farms Deli Flats. I put some peanut butter and sliced banana on the flats and chowed down.

So Good!!!

Does peanut butter count as a protein? It should! It's my favorite, for sure.
